Volunteering

PGER is always accepting volunteers. If you are able to handle yourself safely around all types of horses we would love to have you come out! If you would like to donate some of your time to the horses, simply call us and we can set up an orientation. An orientation takes less than an hour. We will introduce you to all the horses and other critters at the rescue, show you where the tack is kept and go over the handling procedures etc. Once you have had an orientation you just give us a call to confirm a time you would like to come out and that's it! You can spend as much or as little time with the horses as you like. We don't ask our volunteers to muck out stalls or anything like that. It's all hands on with the horses! Most of them just need time out of their corrals, a good grooming and a nice walk. Of course there are always horses that could use some riding time too if you would like to do that instead.
